Saab and Skanska opt for IBX
Two Swedish companies have renewed their contracts with purchasing solution provider IBX: aerospace and defense company Saab and Skanska, one of the world’s largest construction companies. Saab has renewed its contract for a further three years, while Skanska has extended its agreement to deploy IBX’s e-procurement solution for another five years.
Saab has been using IBX software since 2003 and, according to Frederik Axelson, head of corporate procurement at security specialist Saab, succeeded in making the transition from a decentralized to a centralized purchasing organization. Skanska went live with its e-procurement platform back in 2004 and uses it to supply its construction sites with materials.

With VoiceDirect ERP for use with SAP, Vocollect and SALT Solutions provides a direct interface to SAP software for voice-enabled mobile end devices, available immediately. The two companies pledge that the new software can connect highly productive picking technology directly with the logistics module from SAP.
The interface fully integrates the voice software into the SAP system. As a result, warehouse processes can be optimized without the need for additional IT solutions. VoiceDirect ERP for use with SAP reliably maps standard transactions in the SAP Extended Warehouse Management application. More transactions can be added as enhancements using ABAP. The technical infrastructure is provided by SAP NetWeaver with ITS Mobile.

Jumbo-Markt switches logistics center to SAP
The Swiss home improvements chain Jumbo-Markt is set to optimize its entire supply chain with a new Logistics Execution System (LES) from SAP. The new SAP software will be implemented by IT service provider Orbis, headquartered in Saarbrücken, Germany. It will replace Jumbo-Markt’s homegrown warehouse management system.
The company’s central distribution center in Dagmersellen covers some 30,000 m2. Every year, almost 85,000 pallets pass through the center, with between 40 and 60 truckloads leaving the site every day.
