Heil will also be responsible for growing the partner network and extending SAP’s service offerings in SRM. He will report directly to Shai Agassi, executive board member and leader of the brain trust behind the SAP NetWeaver integration and application platform. SAP recently announced that it has achieved the top spot in the SRM market, based on fiscal year 2003 software license revenues and accelerated adoption by customers. The appointment of a high-profile SVP to this business unit further illustrates the company’s commitment to effectively serving the SRM market.
Heil gained his purchasing background from his tenure at General Electric, where he was in charge of European sourcing. Following his time at GE, Heil founded and led Goodex AG, a successful sourcing services provider. When his company was acquired by Ariba, Heil joined the Ariba team, where he remained before moving to SAP. Heil holds a degree in business administration and received a doctorate degree from the Technical University of Munich.
