Feature Article | August 7, 2006 by admin

Participants have the opportunity to gain firsthand insight from SAP executives, partners and local peers into key focus areas, including solutions for midsize companies, industry-specific applications such as SAP for Retail, SAP for Banking and SAP for Public Sector, as well as next-generation software leveraging enterprise service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA). The events are sponsored globally by Intel Corporation. SAP also announced the SAP NetWeaver Technology Tour, targeted at technical audiences, and bringing SAP technology experts and thought leaders to the worldwide developer community.
Launched in early June, the SAP World Tour is expected to draw a total of 30,000 attendees by the end of 2006. To date, more than 3,000 customers and prospects have attended a number of events in countries such as Germany, Slovenia and Saudi Arabia. From Sydney, Zagreb and Tel Aviv to Stockholm and Caracas, each event features keynotes, presentations, customer success stories and panel discussions, as well as industry-specific and technology-focused breakout tracks on topics such as solutions for the midmarket or business benefits of the newest version of mySAP ERP, the market-leading enterprise resource planning (ERP) application.
The road show offers customers and partners throughout the world a local event in a format similar to the annual SAPPHIRE customer conferences at the international level. Customers and partners have the opportunity to network with peers, SAP executives and industry partners to learn more about recent SAP product releases and the company’s vision for innovative new business processes based on enterprise SOA. As a global sponsor, Intel will provide attendees with insight into upcoming projects, as well as recent successes with Intel and SAP customers. Additionally, many countries will be organizing pre-event Education Days, where partners can learn more about SAP’s software and services offerings, helping them to expand their own solution offerings to drive customer success. More than 900 partners already have participated in Education Days during the first leg of the tour.

SAP NetWeaver Technology Tour

The technology tour showcases innovative ideas shaping the enterprise application industry and introduces the latest developments in SAP technology. The tour is visiting nearly 50 cities in the Americas; Europe, the Middle East and Africa; and the Asia-Pacific region this year. Attendees will learn about the SAP NetWeaver platform and enterprise SOA, and can gain the information and tools they need to enable business process innovation. In select cities, attendees will also gain hands-on experience with the SAP Discovery System for enterprise SOA. The SAP Discovery System is an out-of-the-box development environment for enterprise software architects allowing users to test-drive elements of a typical enterprise SOA in a real-world business scenario.
