In April, the digital twin of the Stavå bridge in Norway sounded an alarm from the cloud that reached the offices of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA).

They were able to immediately divert traffic and avoid any injuries. NPRA Director of Technology Trond Michael Andersen explains how Internet of Things (IoT) sensors not only increase safety but also help reduce the costs of repairing or replacing the country’s 5,800 bridges. Furthermore, Marit Reiso, senior technical project manager at SAP Norway, shows and explains how the model created by the sensor data is continuously broadcasted to an SAP cloud application.
