SNP Corporation powers click-and-mortar business strategy with and eBworx

SingaporePublic-listed SNP Corporation Ltd. (SNP), one of Singapore’s leading media groups, announced today that it has partnered IT leaders SAP and eBworX to implement Retail solution. Retail, SAP’s industry solution provides the e-business platform and a suite of Retail applications to support SNP’s recently announced click-and-mortar business model. This integrated e-business platform will enable SNP to effectively manage their publishing and printing operations as well as their retail outlets, which include cyber bookstore,, and their newly opened myepb megastore. Implementation for the project will be done by e-Business integrator, eBworx.

With the support of an integrated infrastructure and applications, SNP will be able to analyse and identify consumer preferences and back this up with fulfilment and delivery capabilities. Retail affords SNP the means to improve their value chain by streamlining logistics to sharpen execution excellence in the distribution channels for their publishing and printing businesses. Using SAP’s AcceleratedSAP methodology for rapid implementation, eBworx will enable SNP to get a faster return on their investment. The first phase saw the completion of the modules from financial to sales and distribution, materials management and industry-specific retail modules with integration to the myepb web-front. This was implemented in a quick timeframe of three months.

SNP has, over the past few years, evolved in its original role as Government printer to become one of Singapore’s leading media houses. The company’s adoption of a click-and-mortar strategy for the expansion of its core publishing business saw the launch of on-line bookstore,, late last year as a first initiative under this strategy. SNP has since augmented myepb’s cyber presence with a physical retail outlet, which was officially opened at Suntec City earlier this month. SNP plans to open five to six more myepb bookstores in Singapore over the next two years, and is also planning to expand its bookstore chain into Malaysia in the near future.

eBworx has completed phase I of the implementation with an e-speed delivery timeframe of three months.
