Caltex Selects mySAP.com™ to Build Global E-Business Infrastructure

Investment Lays Foundation for E-Transformation and Redefines The Way Caltex Employees Collaborate and Work With Their Customers and Partners

SingaporeSAP AG today announced that Caltex Corporation (Caltex), a Singapore-headquartered refiner and marketer of petroleum products, has selected mySAP.com™ as the e-business infrastructure to consolidate systems and streamline business processes across the company’s operations in Asia and Africa. Caltex plans to leverage the Internet to enable human resource self services for its employees worldwide. Through this investment, Caltex will be able to accomplish the e-transformation of its organization to redefine the way it works with its employees, partners and customers.

Caltex will implement a broad range of mySAP.com solutions to help manage its various businesses and connect its global operations, thereby reducing business process costs and improving collaboration. The company also will leverage the oil and gas industry expertise of SAP and further use the mySAP Oil & Gas solution, known throughout the world as the standard integrated solution for that industry, to manage its diverse and geographically widespread business processes.

An SAP™ customer since 1995, Caltex is making its transition into the Internet economy with mySAP.com, which will enable it to meet the challenges of the new business environment while efficiently managing its “old economy” assets.

“Caltex recognizes that we work in a new economy, and we are leveraging the Internet to redesign our business processes to create value and address the needs of our customers, partners and employees,” said Larry Bertagni, IT leader of Caltex. “With mySAP.com we will be able to consolidate and upgrade all systems to one common e-business platform so that we can tighten synergies around the globe. At the same time, it will provide our people with ready access to tools, functionality and information to help them better manage the business and be more responsive to our customers.”

“It’s a strong endorsement of the mySAP.com value proposition when existing SAP customers like Caltex choose to build on their investments by migrating to mySAP.com,” said Bob Armstrong, managing director for SAP Singapore.

All of the world’s leading oil and gas companies are SAP customers, reflecting the experience of SAP in this vertical market and the value these companies place on a strong e-business solution to manage their business.
