Signs deal with leading plastic injection moulding company Fu Yu
Singapore — SAP has strengthened its hold on Singapore’s contract manufacturing industry with today’s announcement that it has sealed a deal with Fu Yu Manufacturing Ltd, one of Singapore’s largest plastic injection moulding and mould manufacturers..
This win follows successes that SAP Singapore has scored over the last two years with Tier One and Tier Two contract manufacturers in Singapore that include luminaries like Omni Manufacturing, Venture Manufacturing, Gul Technologies, Li Xin and Amtek Engineering. These companies have selected mySAP.com as the cornerstone for e-enabling and managing their supply chain better by linking their logistics execution to collaborative planning and scheduling with their partners in the value chain.
Under the terms of this agreement, SAP will help Fu Yu Manufacturing to integrate and their business processes to improve efficiencies and also bring its regional operations under one e-business platform through mySAP.com. Fu Yu Manufacturing plans to implement a robust and flexible supply chain that extends to Singapore, Malaysia, China and Mexico. The company kicked off the project on April 2 2001.

Together with partner PriceWaterhouseCoopers, SAP is now in Phase One of the mySAP.com implementation, which will see the roll-out of mySAP Financials, Sales and Distribution, Materials Management and Production Planning in Fu Yu Manufacturing’s operations in Ang Mo Kio and Tuas. Phase Two, which is planned from the fourth quarter of 2001, will see the roll-out of mySAP.com at eight of Fu Yu Manufacturing’s plants in Malaysia, China, and Mexico.
