Mulia Industrindo Tbk., one of the world’s largest manufacturers and distributors of modern glass and Ceramic tiles, held a contract signing ceremony to mark mySAP Business Suite implementation
Jakarta — Mulia Industrindo and SAP held a contract signing ceremony to mark the implementation of mySAP Business Suite on December 15, 2004. mySAP Business Suite provides powerful tools for self-services, analytics, financials, human capital management, operations, corporate services and extensive reporting. The mySAP Business suite license was done for 151 users for the first phase. They have decided to implement integrated modules of SAP such as Financials (FI), Controlling (CO), Sales & Distribution (SD), Production Planning (PP), Procurement & Material Management (MM), Warehouse Management (WM) during their first phase of SAP implementation.
SAP executives gathered with executives of Mulia Industrindo at their Factory Site for the SAP signing ceremony, as Mulia Industrindo becomes one important addition to SAP Indonesia’s list of clientele.
“In an environment where global competition is becoming increasingly fierce, efficiency is the watchword. Developed countries such as Germany have succeeded in maximizing efficiencies, thanks to latest software systems such as SAP and we wish to emulate that,” said Eka Tjandranegara, President Director of Mulia Industrindo.
Mulia’s previous system is an in-house developed system that was not integrated and failed to provide reliable and accurate data, necessary for decision-making for their top management. Visibility was thus hindered, making it difficult for the top management to make strategic decisions in quick time. The Mulia Board felt that SAP met the key requirements that were critical in their search for an integrated ERP solution. SAP was declared a winner in their long drawn evaluation procedure. SAP provided an extensive reference list of leading manufacturers in Indonesia and in Asia Pacific; a reliable and 24 x 7 support structure, completeness of the mySAP Business Suite and locally available SAP implementations skills.
“It is our mission to enhance efficiency. With SAP, our work life will become more disciplined and it is in our interest to pursue that,” explained Hendra Heryadi, COO of the company. With increased efficiency, we will improve our value to our end customers and hence, will become even more competitive. Although we are the undisputed market leader in this industry, we want to continue to increase our marketshare and grow our business”.
After the signing of the contract by Eka Tjandranegara of Mulia Indsutrindo and Krish Datta, Managing Director of SAP Indonesia, Tony Surjanto, Managing Director of Mulia Industrindo announced, “An ERP Revolution will begin in Mulia Industrindo starting from December 20, 2004 and we look forward to an even brighter and more successful future.”
