News Brief: Regional Director to Lead New Team Driving SAP Asia Pacific’s Fast-Growing Analytics Business

Appointment to further establish SAP as a leading business analytics solution provider across the region

SingaporeSAP Asia Pacific today announces the appointment of Derek Judge as Director, Business Development, Analytics, SAP Asia Pacific. In his new role, Mr. Judge will focus on growing market share for SAP Analytics across the Asia Pacific region by leveraging opportunities in the enterprise, mid-market and SME sectors. With an expanding team to support him, Mr. Judge will manage alliance support and key marketing initiatives to further establish SAP as a leading business analytics solution provider across the region.

Mr. Judge joins SAP with a wealth of experience and expertise in the business intelligence arena. Prior to his recent appointment at SAP Asia Pacific, he held various management positions during his five years with Business Objects. In his last role as Regional Solutions Manager for the Asia South region, Mr. Judge was part of a regional management team that doubled the revenue growth across ASEAN and India, thus establishing a lead over Business Objects’ key competitors. He was also instrumental in securing deals with leading organizations such as Unilever, Citibank and Reliance. Across Business Objects’ operations, Mr. Judge was responsible for managing the relationships with key global systems integrators such as Accenture and IBM.

Before this, Mr. Judge worked at Zuellig Pharma and MicroVista Computer Consultancy. He holds a Masters in Mathematics from the Oxford University, United Kingdom.

Mr. Judge’s appointment follows on SAP’s recent unveiling at its SAPPHIRE® ’05 conference in Copenhagen, Denmark of more than 100 industry-specific analytic applications that empower users with innovative new ways to drive core processes and business decisions based on actionable business insight.

SAP® Analytics are a new breed of model-driven composite applications that change the analytic application playing field across more than 25 industries. By merging data from SAP and non-SAP applications with business intelligence queries, SAP Analytics eliminate disparate islands of data and seamlessly combine transactional, analytic and collaborative steps across multiple business functions, departments and even organizational boundaries.
