MacDonald to Further Success of Growing Hub, Including Singapore, Malaysia, Pakistan, Brunei, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and The Philippines
Singapore — SAP Asia Pacific today announced the appointment of Eric MacDonald as president of Southeast Asia, including SAP Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Philippines. Continuing his role as managing director of Singapore and Malaysia, including oversight of business in Pakistan and Brunei, Mr. MacDonald will now also serve as managing director of SAP Thailand, including sales in neighboring Indochina. With this announcement, SAP Asia Pacific will consist of five focused business hubs – Greater India; Southeast Asia; Australia and New Zealand; North Asia; and Japan.
To further support SAP’s rapid growth in Asia Pacific and bring the company even closer to its customers throughout the region, the SAP Executive Board approved the organization of SAP Asia Pacific into four hubs at the beginning of 2005. The organization, now including five hubs, enables SAP to focus on market coaction coming from the rapidly increasing commercial exchange between Asia Pacific economies. The concentration of resources better positions the company to deliver exceptional value to customers in every country, while accelerating SAP’s growth.

In January 2005, Mr. MacDonald assumed leadership of SAP Singapore and shortly after was appointed managing director of SAP Malaysia. Mr. MacDonald has been with SAP since 1998, contributing in a variety of roles, including SAP senior vice president of education and general counsel for Asia Pacific. During this time, he successfully managed and grew the SAP Education business across 12 countries within the region, producing significant growth in revenue and operating income. In his general counsel role, he was also responsible for managing SAP Asia Pacific’s regional legal team in addition to spearheading regional initiatives around corporate governance.
