SAP Announces Annual SAP® TechEd 2008 Event in Bangalore

Premier Technology Education and Business Process Conference for the Indian Ecosystem Celebrates its Successful 5th Annual Edition

BangaloreSAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced SAP® TechEd 2008 in Bangalore, the fifth annual edition of the premier technology education and business process conference series at Karnataka Trade Promotion Organization’s Trade Centre from Nov. 12–14, 2008. Based on the theme “Connect, Collaborate, Co-Innovate,” SAP TechEd 2008 will bring together the best minds from the Indian technical community to harness the collective knowledge and resources of the SAP ecosystem, helping attendees to enhance their skills and provide value to their companies.

The three-day event will feature the latest innovations in technology, applications and services that can enable IT to respond rapidly to development changes of companies, expand capabilities and maximize business impact. The conference is targeted at and will be of value to software developers, IT managers, business analysts, system administrators, SAP partners, consultants, independent software vendors (ISVs), evaluation and implementation specialists, and business intelligence consultants.

The inaugural day will feature a keynote address by Peter Zencke, Member of the Executive Board of SAP AG. Zencke will present on topics to demonstrate how best-run businesses can improve insight by closely aligning the strategy and execution, driving process efficiency within and across business boundaries, and enhancing flexibility by creating new business processes. Technical experts representing diverse fields will lead classes on a range of subjects, from introductory sessions to advanced technical and hands-on workshops. Local product managers and developers will also be available for resource support at the site.

SAP TechEd 2008 will also mark the inaugural appearance of Business Objects as an SAP company, and will feature new sessions on Business Objects topics. “Community Day,” a pre-conference program, will welcome business process experts, technologists and user groups to share successes, identify needs and discuss the tools that can help users increase efficiency and impact. At the event, the Community Clubhouse will feature a networking lounge where attendees can meet face-to-face with mentors, peers and event speakers to share information about SAP’s customer-focused ecosystem, the SAP® PartnerEdge™ program and SAP solutions. The Demo Jam competition, a regular highlight of SAP TechEd, will feature demonstrations on the latest SAP-related technology projects, presented by customers, partners and SAP employees.

Now in its 12th year globally, SAP TechEd 2008 was held in Las Vegas on September 8–12 and in Berlin on October 14–16, and will be held in Shanghai on November 5–6 and Bangalore on November 12–14. The SAP TechEd events serve as the physical gathering place for the SAP ecosystem of partners, customers and individuals. The event also draws together significant numbers of the 1.3 million individuals who participate in online communities hosted by SAP. Roughly 25,000 new participants sign up for these online communities each month, and from 2006 to 2007 the number of page views doubled to more than 150 million. Participants contribute approximately 6,000 online posts per day and have created more than 60,000 wiki pages to handle ongoing discussions. More than four million posts have accumulated in these forums, and the pace of activity is accelerating. In total, more than 135,000 members have contributed their knowledge, experience and perspectives through the online discussion forums, articles, blogs and wikis hosted by SAP.

Last year, attendance at SAP TechEd grew 22 percent over the previous year to more than 16,000 attendees worldwide. More than 95 percent of attendees said they would recommend the conference to their colleagues.
