Singapore — SAP Asia Pacific Japan (“APJ”) today announced a number of key appointments to its leadership team:
Tom Kindermans to lead SME in APJ
Tom Kindermans has assumed the role of Senior Vice President, SME, SAP Asia Pacific Japan. He takes over the role from Stephen Watts, who previously managed the APJ Small and Midsize Enterprise (SME) line of business in addition to his primary role as SAP APJ’s Chief Operations Officer (COO). Based in Singapore, Kindermans is responsible for leading SAP’s SME line of business across the region.

Prior to his appointment, Kindermans was Senior Vice President, SME in EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa). He joined SAP in 2005 as Vice President of SME Channel Sales globally. Before joining SAP, Kindermans has held several senior executive roles including Senior Vice President of Siemens Communications’ indirect channels, and various sales and marketing positions at Canon.
Simon Dale appointed as Asia Pacific Japan Head of New Business User Organization
Simon Dale, formerly Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for SAP APJ, will assume a new role as Senior Vice President and Head of the new Business User Organization for SAP in the region.
The 20-year industry veteran, who has worked extensively in major Asia Pacific countries during the last eight years, will be responsible for spearheading the sales of integrated solutions for the business user, comprising business intelligence solutions from Business Objects, an SAP company, as well as enterprise information management and performance optimization applications.
Prior to his new role, Dale served as senior vice president and CTO in the region, where he was responsible for driving strategy and business activities for SAP NetWeaver®, SAP’s technology platform.
Based in Singapore, Dale reports to Geraldine McBride, President, SAP Asia Pacific Japan, as well as Mike Morini, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Business User, Global Sales, SAP Business Objects.

Before joining SAP, Dale was Senior Director of worldwide pre-sales for TopTier Software, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise information portal software acquired by SAP in 2001. Dale formerly held senior management positions at a variety of companies in the IT industry, including Dynasty Technologies and Seer Technologies.
Krish Datta becomes Regional Managing Director of SAP Southeast Asia
Krishnendu (Krish) Datta has been appointed Regional Managing Director of SAP Southeast Asia. In his new role, Datta oversees SAP’s business in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, Maldives, Nepal, Bhutan, and Myanmar.
Datta was Managing Director of both SAP Indonesia and SAP Malaysia prior to his appointment, in addition to Senior Vice President, Support Solutions for SAP Southeast Asia. He replaces Eric MacDonald, who has moved on to a new role as Chief Operations Officer for SAP’s Global Education business.
“The Southeast Asia region has consistently delivered outstanding performance each year during Eric’s tenure as its leader and he has built up a strong leadership team during that time,” said Geraldine McBride, President, SAP Asia Pacific Japan. “I’m pleased that we are therefore able to groom new leadership from inside the team – proving that we are truly serious about making SAP Asia Pacific and Japan a ‘place to grow’. Datta joined SAP in 1995, starting the company’s operations in Indonesia and subsequently became Managing Director of SAP Indonesia in 2000. In 2003, he was appointed Managing Director of SAP Philippines and SAP Indochina. Datta was also responsible for initiating SAP’s presence in Vietnam in 2003 and 2004. In January 2008, he held the position of Senior Vice President, Support Solutions for SAP Southeast Asia, and was appointed Managing Director of SAP Malaysia in July 2008.
Throughout his career in the industry, Datta has worked in India, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines, and has held a number of positions from industry business development for CPG and retail, to product, partner and country management. He has managed both field operations, as well as vertical lines of business.
Chuck Mulloy to head APJ Field Marketing
Chuck Mulloy has been appointed Vice President, SAP APJ Field Marketing, reporting to Chris Hummel, Executive Vice President, SAP Global Field Marketing, with a dual report to Geraldine McBride, President, SAP Asia Pacific Japan. Mulloy is responsible for SAP’s field marketing activities across the region, including the generation, influence and acceleration of sales pipeline.
Mulloy leads the APJ team after a successful assignment as head of marketing in Japan, where he was instrumental in transforming the entire marketing organisation by re-establishing brand consistency and designing a blueprint for telemarketing at the country level. He also delivered 200% of his target for marketing-generated pipeline value in 2008.
During his eight-year tenure with SAP, Mulloy also served as Board Assistant to Martin Homlish, SAP’s Chief Marketing Officer, and held roles in Alliances, Business Development and the Go-to-Market for Business ByDesign.
Prior to joining SAP, Mulloy spent several years in business development for VDC Corporation in Asia and channel marketing for IBM in the US.
