Makati, PhilippinesAH Shoppers, the largest retailing company in the province of Bohol in the Philippines recently acquired the license to run SAP Business One through SAP’s reseller ANSI Information Systems, Inc. after thorough evaluation of several available systems.

Prior to implementing SAP Business One, the team at AH Shoppers relied on the previous year’s purchase orders to determine the volume and number of items to stock. This required a lot of guesswork and resulted in overstocking of slow moving products. Also, the inventory was done manually, which meant that items had to be physically counted at the warehouse. All this was time-consuming and tedious for the team at AH Shoppers.

AH Shoppers has realized better operational efficiency since adopting SAP Business One.  Staff is able to easily access warehouse information and determine the items that are moving vis-à-vis items that are not. Inventory tracking is now faster and less time-consuming. Furthermore, purchasing of new stocks is faster since manual inventory is eliminated.

“With the company expanding, we realized that the previous system could not be relied upon to help us keep track of our operations. Now that we operate in 14 towns as opposed to just a few some years back, we have to streamline our system to better improve our efficiency,” said Christine Agbayani of AH Shoppers.

“With the SAP Business One, we get the information we need.  Case in point is when we stocked up on Christmas trees. Last year, we stocked up on 11ft. tall Christmas trees and they didn’t sell as fast as the others. Now, because of quick access to information, we know immediately that 11ft. trees are not as sellable and we avoid overstocking on them,” Agbayani added.

With SAP Business One in place, AH Shoppers is looking into growing its revenue by taking advantage of the province’s growing importance in the tourism industry.

“Companies need to be agile especially in today’s new reality. This is particularly true for SMEs as they need to differentiate themselves against growing competition, maintain appropriate growth in changing environments,” said Jennie Ligones, SAP country manager in the Philippines.

“SAP Business One is an affordable small business management solution that is best-fit for smaller businesses like AH Shoppers that have outgrown their legacy systems and are looking for a single integrated solution that is quick to install, easy to use, simple to maintain and allows for management of the entire business.”

AH Shoppers holds the distinction of being the largest retailer in the province. It currently operates in 14 towns around the province.  The store carries a wide array of products ranging from groceries (e.g., canned goods, meat products, household supplies) to department store items such as apparel, accessories, as hardware products.
