WILDLIFE PARKS RUN WILDER ON SAP

Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) chooses SAP® ERP Solutions to modernise its IT system

SINGAPOREWildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS), which operates award winning parks including the Night Safari, Jurong Bird Park and Singapore Zoo, will be using SAP Business All In One (SAP BAIO) – Financial, Materials and Inventory management, Sales and Distribution – along with SAP Business Objects to track its operations.

The new IT solution from SAP has several goals including providing an integrated view of ticket sales, supporting end-to-end management of the supply chain for its restaurant business, and establishing a platform for more streamlined compliance with environmental health and safety regulations.

Finance Director of WRS, Ms Thang Koon Tee says: “As operations within WRS grow, there is a need for us to upgrade our existing IT infrastructure in order to operate more efficiently and effectively. Previously, SME financial packages and Excel served as adequate tools for our processing, reporting and analysis purposes. However, it is now important that traditional financial tasks be mechanized and integrated in real time for greater productivity based on best practice standard of procedures. SAP with its strong business process methodology and integration tools is the best partner to support this initiative.”

The prime focus of the project is to allow WRS real-time visibility of their ticketing counters and revenue generated from the counters. The system allows flexibility to integrate the front-end point of sales (POS) solution with the back-end SAP BAIO operational system used by the staff to manage the company’s shops and restaurants. This platform gives accurate data, allowing management to make informed strategic decisions.

Michael Lim, Group Chief Operating Officer of ObTech Asia Pacific and SAP’s implementation partner for the project, says: “ObTech Asia Pacific is proud to stand alongside Wildlife Reserves Singapore in the service industry to adopt the SAP Business All-In-One solution. This not only marks a great success for this organization but a leap forward for all businesses in the industry. As a Gold Partner of SAP, we are confident of delivering the SAP Business All-In-One in a way that fits perfectly to Wildlife Reserves Singapore’s needs to further improve their productivity and ROI. Our focus and commitment for this project is high on the agenda.”

With SAP solutions, WRS’ financial tasks can now be re-designed to include higher value adding activities compared to traditional data processing that was done previously. The end result is secure data, IT-enabled applications, as well as real-time and accurate reports for sound business decisions.

Kowshik Sriman, Managing Director, SAP Singapore says: “SAP is driving technology innovation ahead of industry standards; that’s why the best run businesses run SAP. The plan to transform and modernise WRS’s IT system across its three parks reflect the commitment of WRS to efficiency, productivity and transparency that can only be achieved with a well integrated system and a dedication to best practices. We are delighted that WRS has chosen SAP and we look forward to a very successful project and long-term engagement with them.”
