Singapore — SAP (NYSE: SAP) has named John Ruthven Senior Vice President of Cloud and Line of Business for Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) as the company focuses on expanding the enterprise cloud business amidst its strong momentum in the region and commitment to becoming the world’s leading cloud company offering customer simplicity and choice.
Ruthven will drive SAP’s “cloud first” strategy across line of business solutions and oversee the entire cloud portfolio in the region. Based in Sydney, Ruthven reports to Robert Enslin, acting President of SAP APJ and President of Global Customer Operations of SAP AG, and Shawn Price, Global Head of Cloud and Line of Business for SAP AG.

Ruthven brings to SAP 18 years of experience in the IT industry with particular expertise in regional and international management and sales operations. Prior to joining SAP, Ruthven served as Senior Vice President of International Sales at Zuora Inc., and General Manager of Emerging Markets at CA Technologies. A native of Australia, Ruthven holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education with post-graduate studies in Marketing and International Business.
SAP APJ grew triple digits in cloud in Q4 and Full Year 2013. The company’s fast-growing cloud business demonstrates SAP’s leadership in the cloud and reflects the company’s successful transition to cloud while managing the growth of its core business.
