SINGAPORE — The ASEAN Foundation and enterprise software company SAP Southeast Asia (NYSE: SAP) are proud to announce the industry recognition for their strategic collaboration to drive social impact in ASEAN. Both organizations received the Gold award for the Best PR Campaign in Public Services category at the Marketing Magazine’s PR Awards 2018 Gala Dinner held in Singapore on March 16.
First launched and announced in 2017, the ASEAN Foundation and SAP are now into their second year of strategic collaboration under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly roll out initiatives based on two strategic pillars, namely Education and Entrepreneurship. The initiatives are aimed at equipping ASEAN youths with the skills they need to tackle society’s problems and thrive in the digital economy; build the capacity of innovative social enterprises that put young people on the path to more successful careers and build a more effectively skilled workforce for the IT sector with training and workforce development programmes.
“This award is a proofpoint that public and private sector organisations can win together while working hand-in-hand to drive positive social impact and benefit the wider community at large. Our first year of collaboration saw some great outcomes through programmes such as the ASEAN Data Science Explorers, Youth Volunteering Innovation Challenge and the SAP Social Sabbatical programme which benefited 9 of the top 50 ASEAN social enterprises. As both the ASEAN Foundation and SAP continue to leverage on the momentum of our collaboration from 2017, we hope to inspire more public and private sector organisations to step up to the challenge and work together, share capabilities and resources, to drive sustainable social outcomes,” said Elaine Tan, the Executive Director of the ASEAN Foundation.
“SAP saw a successful collaboration with the ASEAN Foundation in 2017. Our shared purpose to prepare today’s youths for tomorrow’s world has led to incredible results in engaging ASEAN youths with more effective capabilities and skills that they need for the Digital Economy. We had over the past year communicated extensively to inspire volunteerism, collaboration and impact, by telling the stories of our collaboration and purpose in service to the ASEAN public. The PR Award validates the joint efforts between both organisations, and we hope to inspire the industry to embark on this similar journey,” said Eugene Ho, Head of Corporate Affairs, SAP Southeast Asia.
Organised by Marketing magazine, the PR Awards is a regional awards show dedicated to celebrating the most talented campaigns from the region’s public relations function.
The champions for 2018 were chosen by a jury made up of senior communications experts from brands across the region.
