Singapore, January 25, 2022 – SAP Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) today announced the appointment of Susanna Hasenoehrl as Senior Vice President (SVP) and Head of Sustainability, APJ.
SAP is reinventing global business by enabling organisations with the solutions and capabilities to run sustainably. These include sustainability-specific solutions for corporate sustainability performance management and reporting, carbon accounting, waste management for circular economy processes, and responsible and inclusive supply chain management. SAP’s deep reach into global business data and processes, combined with an unmatched global partner ecosystem, gives us the unique leverage to help make positive impact at scale. SAP has 50 years of experience helping companies manage resources, and has adopted a role-model approach, with more than 10 years of experience as a leading sustainable enterprise.
Paul Marriott, President SAP APJ, said; “SAP is helping to build a zero emissions future, create the foundation for circular economy driving toward zero waste, and enable zero inequality through our growing portfolio of sustainability solutions. With Asia accounting for more than 70% of global greenhouse gas emissions, it’s critical we focus on helping customers, partners, and governments in the region urgently develop and implement strategies and solutions to address climate challenge. This new role reinforces our ongoing commitment to strengthen our sustainability offering for customers and partners across APJ.”
Susanna brings unique expertise connecting sustainability outcomes and business performance through technology. She has consulted to enterprises across Asia on sustainable business and climate change and is a digital industry veteran. Before joining SAP, she held a leadership position at Yara International, one of the world’s biggest agricultural and environmental chemicals companies, and served in an advisory capacity to the leadership team at Grobrix, an agritech company.
“Asia is at a turning point when it comes to sustainability,” said Susanna. “Climate change is already having a dramatic impact on Asian nations, exacerbating natural disasters and disrupting agricultural patterns. I’m thrilled to be joining SAP, because it has incredible potential to drive fundamental, systemic change when it comes to sustainability. Businesses are beginning to understand the enormous responsibility they have to eliminate carbon emissions from their supply chains, operations, products, and services. It’s a great time to join SAP on this journey, supporting and co-innovating with our APJ customers as we improve environmental and social performance. I am excited about the road ahead and the joint opportunity to empower Asia’s sustainable future.”
Based in Singapore for over a decade, Susanna holds an MBA in International Business from Leopold-Franzens Universität in Innsbruck, Austria.
