Jakarta, 8 August 2022 – Efforts to recover the economy and accelerate infrastructure development are challenging and has become an important post-pandemic agenda to be carried out intensively in Indonesia. One of the sectors that plays a key role in determining the success of this development process is the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) sector.

Although it is still full of challenges and dynamics, in general, optimism on post-pandemic national economic growth is starting to improve. One indicator is the re-growth of consumer demand. This condition affects the business world throughout the country, one of which is the manufacturing sector which has the opportunity to boost production capacity to meet consumer demand. More specifically, this is an opportunity for investors to open new factory facilities or increase manufacturing capacity, as well as strengthening the national infrastructure development plan. As might be expected, this is an opportunity for the nation’s EPC industry.
The EPC sector often takes roles as a bridge that coordinates the development-related elements. Tripatra itself over the last 48 years, has developed the main strategic energy infrastructure in Indonesia and most of the high-risk and complex projects. With significant projects underway, having Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is critical for Tripatra’s large operations in the future. “Data digitization is essential to meet Tripatra’s needs for data accuracy and work efficiency, as well as ensuring sustainable growth for years to come. As a large organization, Tripatra needs to implement robust and sustainable solutions. This is one of the reasons why Tripatra chose SAP for our ERP. Implementation in the early stages is indeed quite challenging at the beginning because there is a significant learning curve to go through, and the benefits are not immediately realized at the beginning,” explained Joesoep.
After several years, Tripatra began to experience a number of benefits, including the availability of a centralized system for the company’s business operations, making SAP ERP the only source of accuracy. In addition, SAP also has the flexibility to conduct experiments to improve business performance, such as implementing a new business model for overhead processes so that a company’s operational processes could be more effective and cost-effective. Their advanced analytical monitoring can also track progress on ESG performance (e.g. carbon emissions, waste). In addition to optimizing a company’s performance in technical and technological processes, SAP can also implement the Internet of Things (IoT) to optimize the health and safety of a company’s employees during project implementation.
