Singapore\u00a0\u2014<\/em> 14 June 2023 \u2014 <\/strong>SAP Labs Singapore today announced its intention to invest in hiring and development of approximately 200 AI engineers to become a key AI Hub and centre of excellence for the company globally. The announcement reinforces its commitment to foster local digital talent in deep tech and emerging fields like AI. The SAP AI Hub will also house highly-skilled development teams that will play a significant role in building innovative embedded AI solutions and offerings for SAP customers globally, helping position Singapore as a core AI development location.<\/p>\n

The announcement was made at SAP d-com Singapore, the company\u2019s first-ever developer community conference in Singapore. Guest-of-honour Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister for Communications and Information and Minister-in-charge of Smart Nation and Cybersecurity, delivered a keynote address<\/a> at the event, and shared her insights on the importance of building next-generation digital talents to future-proof Singapore\u2019s growth.<\/p>\n

The expansion marks a milestone in the journey of SAP Labs Singapore<\/strong>, a digital innovation hub launched in March 2022<\/a> in partnership with the Economic Development Board (EDB). Over the next two years, SAP Labs Singapore plans to hire approximately 200 engineers to fill newly created roles in AI, with a focus on nurturing early-career talents from Singapore\u2019s local universities and institutions of higher learning. Close to 50 of these roles have already been filled over the past three months, and interested candidates are welcome to apply at the SAP Careers site<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Manik Saha, managing director for SAP Labs Singapore, who was recently named a Digital Leader 2023 by IMDA<\/a>, said, \u201cWhen we launched SAP Labs Singapore last year, we aimed to employ more than 400 highly skilled digital professionals here by 2025. The expansion of AI capabilities is a major step towards that goal and furthers our mission to develop high-quality Singapore-based engineers with future-proof skills to build software and solutions for the world. We look forward to forging deeper partnerships with both the public and private sector to sharpen Singapore\u2019s AI ambition and capabilities.\u201d<\/p>\n

AI is proving to be a disruptive force that will be vital to business growth in the years ahead. At its\u00a0 SAP Sapphire 2023 conference last month, SAP unveiled sweeping innovations<\/a> embedding AI responsibly into its solutions, combining cutting-edge technology with decades-long industry expertise to help customers solve their most pressing challenges. This includes innovations that personalise customer engagement, make procurement more productive, and expand organisations\u2019 abilities to find and develop talent across their entire workforce.<\/p>\n
