SAP Secures mySAP Business Suite Deal with Kent Police

mySAP Business Suite to be used by all 6000 employees in the organisation

LondonSAP UK has announced that Kent Police has selected mySAP Business Suite in a multi-million pound deal to further enhance its position as a premier police forces within the UK.

This is the first time a British Police Force has implemented the full SAP enterprise solution including Business Intelligence, Portals, Finance and Procurement, Duty Management, Employee Self Service, Recruitment, Human Resources and Payroll. All 6000 Kent Police employees will be users of the SAP solution, which will replace a number of third party solutions.

Kent Police are deploying Business Intelligence and Duties Management to managers, sergeants, inspectors and civilian support staff to better deploy resources and support performance improvements. Business Intelligence will act as the main platform in supporting Kent Police’s back office management requirements, while Duties Management, once linked to Kent’s new Command and Control System, will reduce administration and provide real-time online access for managers who are then able to respond more effectively to policing demands, both immediate and longer term.

Kent Police will be using Portals to access different parts of the system. The system will enable all police officers and staff to record their time and will automatically calculate hours and process payments due. This information will then be authorised through the system prior to making final payment.

The solution will be rolled out in three stages beginning with Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Business Intelligence, Employee Self Service and Portals, followed by Personnel Development, Training and Expenses, and lastly the Duties solution. Kent Police expects to reap significant cost savings and to improve the deployment of its resources through this implementation.
