SAP UKI expands its executive team and announces four new appointments

LondonSAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced a series of executive appointments to expand and enhance its United Kingdom and Ireland market unit. The executives will report to Steve Rogers, newly appointed Managing Director, who commenced his responsibilities on January 1st, 2007.

Steve expects to achieve a very strong performance growth in the UKI by 2010 and believes that the combined strength of his existing team and recent new executive appointments will be crucial in helping achieve this. Growth will be driven by success in key industries and solutions, outperforming the competition, dominating the SME market with enhanced solutions and supporting customers with strategic technology through SAP NetWeaver and enterprise service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA).

The new executive appointments are:

  • Jonathan Trew is the new Field Services Director for UKI, and member of the executive board. Jonathan joins from Oracle where he has held a number of senior management positions across both the Licence and Consulting lines of business. Jonathan has 25 years experience in the IT industry, working in commercial organisations, management consultancy and the software industry.
  • Derek Flynn is the new Solution Sales Director. Derek will lead SAP’s drive into the CRM, NetWeaver and GRC solution areas. Derek joins from Apertio, a leading software company operating in the Communication industry, where he built a global sales team that quadrupled company revenues and secured a number of prestigious awards.
  • Winfried Rapp is the new CFO. Winfried Rapp originally joined SAP Group headquarters at Walldorf in January 2004. He has international business experience in a range of industries including logistics and transportation, automotive manufacturing and most recently telecommunications, spending three years working within the Deutsche Telekom Group at T-Mobile in London.
  • Penny Illston is the new HR Director. Penny Illston is a highly experienced HR board director who has worked in a variety of industry sectors including technology, retail, leisure and hospitality and airlines. Her career spans a number of organisations including British Airways, Comet and P&O Cruises. She joins SAP from its alliance partner Capgemini.
