Lingerie retailer achieves true visibility of supply chain with 200 suppliers worldwide

LondonSAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced that figleaves.com has selected Chelford and SAP ERP to better manage the way it deals with its 200 suppliers and create true visibility throughout its supply chain.

Significant growth of figleaves.com made the management team realise that they had quickly outgrown their original Sage, then Navision and in-house systems and needed new software that would support the business, and scale to allow it to continue on its path of growth. The company engaged with independent consultants to find the most suitable software for figleaves.com. After a detailed evaluation of many vendors, two were short listed; SAP and one other.

Daniel Nabarro, CEO, figleaves.com, commented: “When I saw SAP had made the final two, I was shocked. I had always thought of the company as being too expensive, too big and too bureaucratic. However, when we looked objectively I saw that the SAP proposal was the most compliant, comprehensive and competent on offer. We are confident that SAP will deliver the best value for money for figleaves.com and is fully able to support our high growth ambitions.”

“The other deciding factor when choosing SAP was its commitment to organic growth in the SME market, as opposed to other vendors who are expanding in this space through acquisition. I was concerned about choosing one of those companies because I believe they will struggle to support the various different platforms that they will need to.”

figleaves.com, will be implementing SAP ERP to cover the core back office functions, particularly finance and procurement. The software will improve alignment of strategies and operations, improve flexibility and will also enable figleaves.com to react quickly to changing industry requirements.

The SAP solution will be supplied by SAP partner Chelford, which has also been contracted by figleaves.com to implement the software. Justin Brading, Sales Director of Chelford SAP Solutions, said: “Chelford has solid experience of working with SAP implementations in specialist distribution industries, particularly multi-channel. We are delighted that such a high profile fast growing retailer as figleaves.com has chosen SAP and Chelford and we look forward to a long term close working partnership over the coming years.”

“For a company that sells products to 96 countries globally and must be available 24×7, it is vital that it has true visibility of its supply chain. The SAP solution will enable figleaves.com to achieve this. figleaves.com as a new customer name in our portfolio once again reinforces our commitment to both the SME and retail space,” said Ciaran Rafferty, SME Director, SAP UKI.
