Fashion Retailer Selects Industry-Specific End-to-End Solution for Midsize Companies from SAP to Streamline and Integrate Business Processes, Gain Transparency and Fuel Future Growth
WALLDORF, Germany — SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) announced that ORSAY Gmbh, a midsize women’s fashion retailer, has selected the SAP® Business All-In-One for Retail solution to streamline and integrate its entire supply chain and centralize business operations. ORSAY operates approximately 550 stores across Europe and has selected the SAP solution to help fuel its expansion into Asia over the next few years. Based in Willstätt, Germany, ORSAY will replace its home-grown IT system with the SAP Business All-in-One solution to gain valuable insight into the needs of its fashion-conscious customers.

The SAP Business All-In-One for Retail solution supports modular deployment and scalability so midsize companies can easily add and adapt the solution to meet their growing needs. The solution includes industry-specific functionalities such as merchandise and assortment planning, procurement, logistics, supply chain management and point-of-sale processes, including the SAP® Enterprise Point-of-Sale (SAP Enterprise POS) application. By selecting an integrated retail solution from SAP, ORSAY is helping to ensure that the company’s entire supply chain will be more effectively aligned to serve the needs of its fashion-conscious consumer.
Flexible Planning to Ensure the Right Merchandise Mix
Integrated business planning for retail and wholesale distribution will provide ORSAY with highly flexible planning functions to help ensure effective and timely merchandise and assortment management. In addition to the latest trends and demand forecasts, the planning package also will incorporate unique data about each one of ORSAY’s stores, allowing customers to consistently find the merchandise they want in their local store. The high degree of planning flexibility also makes it possible to react quickly to changes in customers’ purchasing behavior and plan the merchandise shipment in advance to the stores, minimizing stock transfers.
Better Procurement Processes
Following the SAP implementation, planning results will be integrated into ORSAY’s procurement process. Time is of the essence, as ORSAY’s assortment reflects the very latest trends sourced globally. The SAP solution will provide the flexibility for ORSAY to easily manage the challenge of short product lifecycles and long delivery times.
Supply Chain Transparency
ORSAY’s supply chains vary considerably from country to country and will be monitored using a tracking and tracing functionality from SAP. The supply chain will be completely integrated through the SAP NetWeaver® technology platform, providing the transparency needed for ORSAY to guarantee its customers an extensive merchandise assortment with a wide range of options.
Manage Stock and Strengthen Customer Loyalty
Using SAP Enterprise POS to connect POS transactions and back-office functions, ORSAY will be able to optimize its customer service and increase the productivity of store processes. To enable end-to-end integration, ORSAY will use store merchandise management functionality from SAP to incorporate the POS transactions in its business processes-either online or offline. In addition to the POS transactions, the retail solution will also connect to all store and human resource processes to optimize store staffing.
With the SAP® POS Data Management application, ORSAY will have detailed information about customer buying behavior, and can effectively plan and launch promotions in their stores more dynamically. Efficiently managing stock and strengthening customer loyalty requires flexibility in responding to changes; SAP solutions enable ORSAY to monitor the entire lifecycle of its products, respond to changing circumstances and continuously develop new service offerings for the stores to provide to their shoppers.
