Treadsetters Speed to Victory with SAP Business One

Tyre specialist aims to automate business processes with new software platform

LondonSAP UK today announced that Treadsetters, specialists in truck, bus, earthmover and car tyres, has implemented SAP Business One to further streamline its business, maintain competitive edge and accelerate growth.

Founded in 1999, Treadsetters has rapidly grown into one of Europe’s principal tyre and wheel wholesalers, supplying truck, passenger car and earthmover tyres and wheels to over 30 countries world wide. As a direct result of increasing its sales 8 fold since 2005, Treadsetters became the regional winner of the Daily Telegraph’s and HSBC’s Business Thinking Award in December 2010. Treadsetters is currently launching TORQUE, its own brand of tyre, representing another major milestone in the history of the company which will enable Treadsetters to open further export markets.

Prior to deploying SAP, Treadsetters lacked a consolidated CRM system and the necessary tools to meet financial control and reporting requirements of a rapidly growing, truly multi national organisation. The company identified the need to restructure its IT systems, and saw this as vital to its ambition to expand into new markets. Treadsetters set about deploying a fully integrated IT system to support its competitive business efforts.

Treadsetters looked at several options before selecting SAP, “We found the alternatives to be more expensive and less flexible or as configurable as SAP Business One,” explains Trefor Jones, Director, Treadsetters. “Industry specific software solutions for tyre dealers also failed to offer a system that complimented our back office structure.”

The project started in July 2010 and Treadsetters were fully live by that September. “The implementation process went smoothly and everything has been a massive success so far. Having a tailored solution allows us to produce a plethora of interesting reports and has enabled us to ramp up automation of processes, and the integrated nature of SAP ensures consistency of data throughout the organisation.”

Jones continues, “To maintain our competitive edge we need to have a view of all aspects of our business – SAP Business One gives us that. The implementation is having a direct impact our bottom line; having access to more and increasingly accurate data, we can now make better business decisions faster.”

John Antunes, new Head of SME at SAP UK & Ireland commented, “We are delighted that Treadsetters selected SAP and we’re thrilled to be working with the team and the Partner, Culex Consulting (an SAP Gold Channel Partner) on a project that is making a real difference to the way it is doing business. We’re committed to working with Treadsetters as it continues to automate its system further, looking for more interesting ways to progress and deliver reports.”
