UK’s Leading Cash Solutions Provider implements SAP to Enhance Customer Experience
LONDON — SAP UK & Ireland is pleased to announce that the UK’s leading cash solutions provider, G4S Cash Solutions, has undertaken a project with SAP that will see a complete transformation in the way it interacts with its customers, creating better service and greater levels of client satisfaction. G4S Cash Solutions has a national and local customer base spanning a variety of industry sectors including finance, retail and government. The company specialises in comprehensive cash management solutions ranging from secure cash transportation to outsourced cash management, end-to end ATM solutions and secure storage and retrieval.
Continued business growth, and a shift in customer demands led to the business re-evaluating its technology systems and processes. Prior to selecting SAP in the first quarter of this year, G4S Cash Solutions had been using a disparate set of well established systems that were not fully integrated, making accessing consistent data a complex task.

To do this, we need to have the systems in place that will provide the right efficiencies and processes, as well as the technology to enable us to interact in a better way with our most valuable assets – our customers,” said Declan Hunt, IT Director for G4S Cash Solutions in the UK.
The company set about looking for a new technology solution and looked at offerings from seven vendors before selecting SAP. Hunt explained “There are currently four ERP system vendors being used across the G4S group, so we evaluated their offerings, as well as those from Oracle, SAP and Microsoft Dynamics. After a rigorous assessment we whittled the shortlist down to SAP and Oracle. We finally settled on SAP for a couple of reasons: we felt that they were the better fit with our team culturally, and that the product was fully integrated with tighter processes – something that is vital to the success of this project.”
G4S Cash Solutions has embarked on a transformation project with SAP with the first phase of the project – financials, procurement and materials management – going live, on budget, in August this year. Phase two, with CRM, billing and a customer self service portal, will go live in the third quarter of 2012.
