UK’s leading manufacturer of industrial fans and centrifugal fans replaces NetSuite CRM solution with fully integrated Cloud based solution from SAP in the United Kingdom and China
FELTHAM, United Kingdom — Yorkshire based Halifax Fans, the UK’s leading manufacturer of industrial and centrifugal fans has implemented SAP Business ByDesign in a move to support fast business growth and enable the organisation to enter new markets. With only 40% of employees based in the head office in the UK and the other 60% split across nine different locations, the business was beginning to feel the strain of not having an integrated system in place.
“Since the company was founded in 1965, we have seen consistent growth globally and have aggressive plans in place to continue growing on a worldwide scale,” said Ian McEvoy, Owner, Halifax Fans. “We had several bespoke systems in place and CRM from NetSuite, which although they worked fine individually, really put a strain on the business from the perspective of being able to have one single view of data. In order for the business to be able to maintain its growth and continue to be successful, it was obvious that we would need to implement a fully integrated solution.”
McEvoy continued; “We didn’t want to hire a big IT team so knew that a Cloud based offering was the right approach for us. We then set about selecting the solution that we felt was the right fit for the business and looked at several offerings in the marketplace including; NetSuite, Priority, Opera and Access SC. We needed full conventional manufacturing and full bespoke project capability as well as a solid Chinese accounting and HR system. Making an investment like this also meant we wanted to ensure that the software would be future proof. SAP was selected as the vendor of choice because it was the only fully integrated solution that fit with all of our requirements without the need for bolt-on technology.”
SAP Business ByDesign is being implemented in the UK and China. The UK team has already gone live and the team in China will go-live on the 31st December. A wide range of benefits are anticipated following the roll-out of the software, such as the ability to expand significantly quicker than in the past, resulting in increased sales and the ability for all employees globally to assist in any function and from any location, which will result in increased levels of customer and employee satisfaction. We will also be able to provide a much higher standard of service support.
