SAP NEWSBYTE — SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today celebrated the 2014 regional winners of the SAP Quality Awards for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region at a ceremony hosted at the company’s headquarters in Walldorf, Germany. The awards recognise customers across EMEA that have demonstrated excellence through the entire implementation cycle and delivered significant business benefits to their organisations.
“The SAP Quality Awards recognise customer projects for their excellence in terms of management, execution and business transformation,” said Yves Le Gelard, Senior Vice President, Services, SAP. “These outstanding projects clearly show how our customers are redefining their businesses with SAP innovations in order to succeed in today’s very competitive and complex marketplace. I congratulate all of the finalists and customers that have been recognised by the SAP Quality Awards.”
From a total of 222 nominations, 25 winners from across EMEA were shortlisted and presented to an external expert judging panel [PDF]. The projects were judged against adherence to SAP’s 10 quality principles [PDF] and achievement of business transformation and value. The winners were announced at a ceremony hosted by Yves Le Gelard and Michael Kleinemeier, President SAP Middle and Eastern Europe. They include:

Assistant Chief Fire Officer Paul Hill, Essex County Fire and Rescue Service’s Director of Safer and Resilient Communities, said: “With a county population of more than 1.7m, we knew there were huge benefits to be gained by joining up all our people systems. Working in an emergency environment means we need to have the right people in the right place at the right time and for this to be a visible process in our drive for change, efficiency and delivering value for money to the council tax payers of Essex. We knew that the right technology could help us improve community service provision and optimise use of our staff but that adoption would be critical for success.”
“We worked with consultants to translate informal, local ways of working into structured and networked processes underpinned by a single entry of information; we had to ensure we did not lose service users on our journey,” continued Hill. “Constant communication and a carefully managed implementation programme that listened to users meant we were able to take staff on this journey with us every step of the way. We are proud to have our efforts recognised by SAP at an EMEA level. The award is a testament to the hard work of all those who contributed to our success.”
All of the finalists demonstrated excellent project management and execution, a strong focus on having IT and business work hand-in-hand and the ability to effectively address the requirements of the business while minimising complexity, showing strong commitment to drive innovation, achieve their vision and redefine their future.
