{"id":132796,"date":"2020-07-08T09:47:47","date_gmt":"2020-07-08T08:47:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.sap.com\/uk\/?p=132796"},"modified":"2023-09-26T18:38:10","modified_gmt":"2023-09-26T17:38:10","slug":"barclaycard-extends-partnership-with-sap-to-include-payment-gateway-access","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.sap.com\/uk\/2020\/07\/barclaycard-extends-partnership-with-sap-to-include-payment-gateway-access\/","title":{"rendered":"Barclaycard Extends Partnership With SAP To Include Payment Gateway Access"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\"><strong>Barclaycard\u2019s Smartpay gateway now available as part of the SAP Commerce Cloud<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>LONDON \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sap.com\/uk\/index.html\">SAP UK &amp; Ireland<\/a> today announced that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barclaycard.co.uk\/business\/accepting-payments?WT.mc_id=C031L011N91_PPCBrand&amp;WT.srch=1&amp;TC=PAC&amp;&amp;s_kwcid=AL!5945!3!440932891626!e!!g!!barclaycard%20payments&amp;gclid=CjwKCAjwi_b3BRAGEiwAemPNU3-r7Uu9ldnWCtVRKmcpCZtk56UrpnEDIK2_SLXojfr1DXnGbavJIhoCrQcQAvD_BwE&amp;gclsrc=aw.ds\">Barclaycard Payments<\/a> has extended its relationship with SAP to make its payments gateway product, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barclaycard.co.uk\/business\/accepting-payments\/corporate-payment-solutions\/payment-gateway-solutions\/online\">Smartpay<\/a>, available to SAP customers across Europe.<\/p>\n<p>From today, any business signed up to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sap.com\/uk\/products\/crm\/e-commerce-platforms.html\">SAP Commerce Cloud<\/a> will be able to access Smartpay and take advantage of benefits including frictionless customer experience, bolstered fraud defences and a consistent payments offering across online and offline channels.<\/p>\n<p>One of Smartpay\u2019s chief benefits is its ability to power fast, smooth, flexible payments. The platform supports one-click purchases and allows buyers to use a variety of different cards, currencies and payment methods. In addition, Smartpay uses the latest anti-fraud approaches \u2013 such as machine learning \u2013 to detect fraudulent transactions in real-time and reduce false positives. This approach protects the business\u2019 finances and minimises negative customer experiences such as payment declines.<\/p>\n<p>For companies who rely on the SAP Commerce Cloud to do business, implementation of Smartpay is swift and easy, and it removes the need to have multiple integrations with different payment providers. In turn, this means that organisations can offer the same payment experience to their customers across all physical, digital and mobile channels.<\/p>\n<p>The provision of Barclaycard\u2019s Smartpay gateway to SAP\u2019s European customers is the latest development in the partnership between the two industry leaders. In February last year, a collaboration was unveiled which saw Barclaycard\u2019s business-to-business payment solution, Precisionpay, incorporated into the SAP Ariba Network.<\/p>\n<p>Marc Pettican, President, Barclaycard Payments, said: \u201cThis expansion of our partnership with SAP opens up big opportunities not only for us, but also for the many businesses that use the SAP Commerce Cloud across Europe.
