Sustainability has become a key driver in the strategic transformation of many companies. Terumo Europe is no exception. Working towards carbon neutrality by 2040, they are taking important steps with the help of SAP Sustainability Footprint Management (SFM) and their long-standing partner, Deloitte.
In this video, Sigurd Segers, Director of Applications at Terumo Europe, and Jean-Philippe Draye, SAP TM Offering Leader at Deloitte, share insights on this journey.
“We need to become more data-driven when it comes to sustainability,” Sigurd explains. “With the help of Deloitte and SAP’s technology, we are better able to track and manage our CO2 emissions across the supply chain.”
Terumo’s ambitious goal includes compliance with the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) by 2026. Jean-Philippe highlights the role of SAP in this transformation: “Our focus has been on the ‘procure to produce’ and downstream transportation scenarios, to ensure we get a comprehensive view of emissions across operations.”
Though this is only the beginning, Terumo is already seeing the benefits of integrating SAP’s sustainability solutions. As Sigurd says, “We’re hopeful that by the end of the year, we’ll have even better insights into our environmental impact.”
