July 5th, 2023 — SAP SE today announced the appointment of Carlos Lacerda as its new Senior Vice President and General Manager for Southern Europe, which comprises Greece, Israel, Portugal, Spain and Turkey. In this capacity Carlos Lacerda will be responsible for all Customer Success operations in Southern Europe. He will report to Manos Raptopoulos, Regional President for SAP Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA South).
Carlos Lacerda succeeds João Paulo da Silva, who – after a distinguished SAP career of more than 26 years – has decided to pursue the next chapter of his career outside of the company, as he takes a well-earned break for a few months.
Carlos Lacerda most recently led the Cloud ERP and RISE with SAP business for SAP EMEA South and served on both the Regional Senior Leadership Team and SAP Executive Team. Prior to joining SAP, he held several senior executive positions within Microsoft EMEA and Asia over a 19-year tenure, and was also the CEO for ANA, Portuguese Airports and Farminveste.
“With the appointment of Carlos Lacerda as the head of Southern Europe, we are ensuring a seamless transition for our customers, our partners, and our people,” commented Manos Raptopoulos. “He brings with him an extensive track record of delivering customer success, creating and nurturing meaningful partnerships, and fostering high-performing, diverse and inclusive teams. I look forward to our continued partnership and seeing the positive impact he will no doubt deliver to our customers, partners and people across Southern Europe.”
“As SAP goes all-in to deliver customer success in the cloud, I don’t believe there is a better place to be than Southern Europe,” said Carlos Lacerda. “This region is hotbed for innovation, and I couldn’t be more excited to build on the legacy of João Paulo da Silva, leading an amazing team of people and working with a thriving ecosystem of partners, to serve our customers as they transform in the cloud with SAP.
