Singapore, January 25 – SAP announced its global Q4 and full year 2023 results on January 24, underlining a year of significant cloud momentum.

Customers across Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) continue to choose SAP to drive their cloud transformations in 2023. SAP announced high-profile customer wins and go-lives across a range of industry sectors in APJ, showing ongoing demand for cloud-based transformation as well as new innovations to boost growth like artificial intelligence and sustainability.

  • Q4 cloud revenue in APJ was up 28% to €499 million, up 36% at constant currencies.
  • Q4 customer wins and go-lives in APJ included world-famous brands like NEC Corporation, Coles Group, and Wipro.
  • RISE with SAP continues to support APJ companies in their cloud transformation, with new wins and go-lives including Daikin Industries Ltd and Mitr Phol.
  • Companies like AusNet, Foodstuffs North Island, and Chandra Asri Pacific complemented SAP solutions with process and data innovation through SAP Signavio and SAP Datasphere.
  • APJ also reported momentum with new SAP S/4HANA cloud customers like Airservices Australia, Christchurch City Council, Hitachi High-Tech Corporation, Manila Water Company, Mapletree Investments, Marubeni IT Solutions, and Marubeni Corporation, while Matsumoto Precision selected SAP Sustainability Footprint Management to improve the environmental impact of its products.

Cloud revenue in APJ grew to €499M Euros in Q4 2023, an increase of 28% over same period 2022, with India and South Korea showing particular momentum. Total APJ Q4 2023 revenue grew to 1.184B Euros. These results culminated in full year APJ cloud revenue of 1.781B Euros in 2023, up 21% year-on-year and 29% at constant currency.

RISE with SAP continues to underpin APJ’s cloud transformation. In Australia, Coles Group chose RISE with SAP alongside renewing licenses for SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Fieldglass, and SAP Business Technology Platform. In Japan, NEC Corporation and Daikin Industries both chose RISE with SAP.

SAP announced a range of customers taking advantage of these new innovations. AusNet complemented RISE with SAP with SAP Signavio, SAP Business Technology Platform, and SAP Datasphere, while in New Zealand Foodstuffs North Island purchased SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP Build Workzone, and SAP Datasphere to further its aim of becoming a future-ready enterprise. Meanwhile in Japan, Matsumoto Precision chose SAP Sustainability Footprint Management to collect and calculate the carbon footprint of its products, aiming to improve the environmental impact of its products.

Christchurch City Council has purchased RISE with SAP with S/4 HANA Private Cloud Edition.

Chandra Asri Pacific

Hitachi High-Tech Corporation

Hitachi High-Tech, one of the world’s leading semiconductor and technology companies, has embarked on a digital transformation project to strengthen its business foundations. The project aims to enhance the sophistication of operations and collaboration between manufacturing bases and overseas subsidiaries. Hitachi High-Tech will link design and manufacturing processes, digitalize its manufacturing process (3D graphics), and transform its products to meet diversifying customer needs at its main manufacturing bases in Kasado and Naka. For this reason, the company will build a bill of materials (BOM) at manufacturing sites and link product option information at the time of receiving orders in Japan and overseas to the manufacturing sites. The project uses SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, and SAP Business Technology Platform.

MATSUMOTO PRECISION CO., LTD. has adopted SAP Sustainability Footprint Management, which enables the collective calculation of the carbon footprint of companies and products and has now started providing information on CO2 emissions per product to its suppliers.
