SAP NEWSBYTE — June 12, 2024 — SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) SAP announced today that Swiss retailer COOP has gone live with select categories as part of a stepwise roll-out of SAP’s new industry solutions, SAP Predictive Replenishment and SAP Order and Delivery Scheduling. With these next generation cloud solutions in place, COOP will reduce costs, boost operational efficiency, and elevate customer satisfaction, for distribution centers, marking an important step in COOP’s cloud and supply chain transformation and co-innovation with SAP.
Thomas Vielhauer, Head of IT Merchandise Management Processes at Coop, said, “SAP provides us with an integrated process across the supply chain. Our focus is always on customer value, and we are very proud to see now first results for our distribution center replenishment processes. One advantage of cloud is speed and innovation. We can take advantage of new features immediately as they become available, and this will accelerate our roll-out”.
SAP Predictive Replenishment optimizes order proposals based on various data sources, ensuring optimal inventory levels in the warehouses. Based on SAP Order and Delivery Scheduling order cycles are determined and used.
“Our planners are now able to review automatically generated and data-driven order. Looking at exceptions only is saving a lot of time that they can now use for higher value tasks”’ says Melanie Reimann, Head of Goods Flow Control at COOP. “Synchronized order schedules help us to plan all logistics activities in a joint manner to optimally get our products to the stores at the right times in the most efficient way possible. Using the same data across all systems is a huge advantage.”
SAP and COOP have a long history of co-innovation ventures. Another joint development project being rolled out in COOP’s stores is SAP Replenishment Planning, which is designed for cost-optimal store replenishment. The implementation along with machine learning- based unified demand forecast component has already resulted in higher sales, reduced waste, and supports COOP’s sustainability mission.
As a next project step, COOP plans to include further product categories and to integrate store and distribution center replenishment by utilizing the aggregated store order forecast to enable a multi-echelon supply chain planning.
